Photogrammetry is the science of extracting quantitative and qualitative information from images which was born soon after the first photograph was taken. Recent advances in computational methods coupled with increased computational power have improved accessibility to photogrammetry for different applications. We have been experimenting in the application of photogrammetry for several years for art historical documentation, historic preservation and urban planning.
